Perry's films and documentaries
bear the mark of his art-school roots (Rhode Island School of Design)
and his years in the trenches of network TV, beginning with a decade
in broadcast journalism. After designing and producing news for
CNN, CBS and ABC, Perry broke ranks for pop culture on cable shows
like Vh1's Pop-Up Video. Other creative work followed, notably
photography and print for national magazines like Interview, Spin
and the short-lived but acclaimed Might. Perry now writes and produces
film, TV and Web projects with Michael Nigro under their company
banner Acme Pictures, focussing primarily on social issues and
combining real life with comedy wherever possible. Their award-winning
feature documentary American Cannibal hit theatres in 2007. |
