Founder and Co-Director of the inaugural Vail Film Festival, Denis
began his cinematic career filming nature documentaries on the
outer Islands of Hawaii. Collaborating with the University of Hawaii,
NOAA, Jean-Michel Cousteau and the BBC, such productions have taken
him from the South Pacific to northern Canada and have garnered
him Direction of Photography awards from the Canadian Academy of
Cinema and Television and Eastman Kodak. In addition to years spent
capturing stock nature footage, production credits include The
Science of Whales, Encounters With The Whales Of The Saint-Lawrence,
The Last Frontier, and The Mystery Of The Blue Whale. Recent productions
include projects with MTV, Ifilm, The Discovery Channel, NBC News,
the NYU Tisch Graduate School of Film and Television, and of course,
Acme Pictures, with whom he is now one of the principals. |
